The interior photograph on the left shows an Oak kitchen in a 5 star self catering establishment in Somerset. The kitchen is incredibly well equipped and we wanted to provide the message that this is the place to stay for someone who loves to cook.
We used a long exposure / slight over exposure to give the kitchen a wam and homely feel. |
Interior photography is absolutely key to effectively selling property, tourism accommodation or interior furnishings. There are several factors which need to be taken into consideration when creating stunning interior photography.

Interior photographs may require a series of visits for the best light conditions, sun , shadows and angles. Early morning and late evening often produce the most atmospheric shots, even night time shots where you can control the light more effectively.
We have undertaken a large number of interior photography projects, from restaurants, hotels, self catering and furnishing organisations.
A professional interior photograph is often the difference between someone selecting your product from a competitors. You will undoubtedly recoup on the investment. All too often we see beautiful property and ehavy quality investment let down by average photography. |
Tips for great interior photography.
LIGHT, Light LIGHT! As with all photography light management is absolutely essential with interior photography..
1. Turn on all the lights in the room, use lampshades to create intersting shadows.
2. Use sunlight to our advantage, sun streaming across a bed adds a lot of atmosphere.
3. Undertake interior photography when it is dark outside if you don't want sunlight to effect your shadows (For more atmospheric work.)
4. Set the scene - Add items of interest. Don't use the same flowers or prop items in a series of shots.
5. Tell a story in the scene, for example for tourism accomodation the first thing people do on arrival is put the kettle on and relax. A steaming mug of tea goes a long way to adding atmospehere.
