 Portrait photography

Don't just focus on the subject during portrait photography.   So many good amateur portraits are spoiled by a poor  or irrelevent background.   Removing the background or blurring the background with large aperture sizes will ensure the main subject is the portrait subject.

Here we used a very strong light from a single direction to really emphasis the ripples and texture of the portait subject.

Portrait photography is all to easy to result result with staid - Smile --- Click shots!!   There is no emotion or feeling in the shot.

A true portrait should convey a message about the person. Who they are, what they feel and what their relationship to others in the shot.

 Portrait Photography Tips

 - As with all photography in portrait photography get the light right.  Good makeup can be just as important as the right filter, lens and light.

 -   Portrait photography will often come out looking really good if you fill the frame with most of the face.

- Candid portrait photography when the subject is not paying attention often renders esxcellent results but also results in the embarassing silly expression shots.  Delete them - noone likes looking silly.
